Experts from Tobacco Research Institute attended the International Symposium of Functional Food and Plant Metabolism in Shanghai, China on 13th-14th December, 2015.

To understand the newest advances and achievements in functional food and plant metabolism, and promote the communication of scientific researchers all around the world, the Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden hosted the International Symposium of Functional Food and Plant Metabolism in Shanghai, China on 13
th
-14
th
December, 2015. The topics of this international conference involved: 1) functional food and plant natural products; 2) plant metabolism and regulation; 3) plant nutrients and genomics. The committee members cover both domestic and international. Experts from Tobacco Research Institute (TRI), CHINESE ACADEMY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES, also attended this international conference, and made two poster presentations. They are Dr. Zhang’s “Jasmonate receptor protein COI1 coordinates secondary and primary metabolisms in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.)” and Dr. Yan’s “Solanesol: a review of its resources, derivatives, bioactivities, medicinal applications, and biosynthesis”.
