Research Area

Prof. Pengjun Xu is currently working in Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences (Qingdao, China). As visiting researcher, Pengjun had been working in the lab of IPEG for two years funded by Newton International Fellowship (2017-2019). Pengjun’s research aims to understand the coevolution between insects and microorganism. Pengjun’s current research focused on two areas: (1) interactions between viruses and their insect hosts, (2) the adaptive evolution of insects by horizontal gene transfer and gene duplication.
